THE WOMAN BETWEEN TWO BROTHERS

After their mother died, David and Daniel were forced to live with their aunt in Boston.

At first, the aunt took good care of them. But there was a big problem: neither David nor Daniel liked to work.

— “You need to find a job!” the aunt would say.

— “We’ll look tomorrow,” David always replied.

— “Yes, tomorrow is the best day to work,” Daniel added.

But that “tomorrow” never came.

For almost a year, the two brothers ate, slept, watched TV, and played video games. The aunt was exhausted.

One winter morning, after finding them asleep until noon, she snapped.

— “Get out of my house! Both of you! I can’t deal with this anymore!”

She threw their bags outside.

— “Auntie, it’s freezing outside!”

— “Work makes you warm!” she said.

The door slammed behind them.

Boston was covered in snow.

David and Daniel were walking in the street like two lost penguins.

— “I’m hungry.”

— “I’m cold.”

— “I’m hungrier than you.”

— “I’m colder than you.”

They kept arguing about who was suffering more.

That’s when a beautiful black car stopped beside them.

The window rolled down.

A stylish young woman named Sophia looked at them.

— “Are you guys okay?”

— “We’re not dead yet,” David replied.

— “But we’re getting close,” Daniel added.

Sophia laughed.

She noticed David immediately. She found him very attractive.

— “Get in the car.”

Without thinking, both brothers got in.

Sophia’s house looked like a palace.

David and Daniel couldn’t believe it.

— “Even the bathroom is bigger than my old room,” Daniel said.

Sophia prepared food for them.

While they were eating, she kept looking at David.

— “David, do you want more juice?”

— “Yes.”

— “David, do you need more rice?”

— “Yes.”

— “David, do you need a blanket?”

— “Yes.”

Daniel raised an eyebrow.

— “What about me?”

— “There’s water in the fridge.” Sophia replied

After a few days, Daniel noticed something.

Sophia had zero interest in him.

All her attention was on David.

That made him jealous.

The problem was that Daniel had also started falling for Sophia.

One night he walked into the living room.

— “Sophia, I love you.”

Sophia was shocked.

— “What?”

Before she could respond, David walked in.

— “Why are you telling my girlfriend that?”

— “Your girlfriend? She’s not your girlfriend!”

From that day on, war began.

David bought flowers for Sophia.

Daniel bought even more flowers.

David cooked for her.

Daniel ordered food from restaurants.

David wrote her a poem.

Daniel used ChatGPT to write a better poem.

One morning, the brothers reached their limit.

They both showed up in suits in front of Sophia.

— “Choose me!” David said.

— “No, choose me!” Daniel replied.

They started arguing.

The argument turned into a pillow fight.

The pillow fight turned into a chase all over the house.

Finally, they broke an expensive vase that belonged to Sophia’s grandmother.

Silence fell.

Sophia looked at them.

— “Are you done?”

They stopped.

— “Yes…”

— “I took you in because I wanted to help you.”

She pointed at the door.

— “But ever since I helped you, you’ve turned my life into a TV show.”

The brothers lowered their heads.

Sophia took a deep breath.

— “I don’t want either of you.”

— “What?” they said together.

— “I can’t be with two people who are ready to destroy a house over a woman.”

She opened the door.

— “Leave.”

A month later, David and Daniel got jobs at a warehouse.

One day they saw Sophia at a café.

She was sitting with another man.

— “Do you think he’s her boyfriend?” Daniel asked.

— “Maybe.”

— “We lost.”

— “Yeah.”

The End. 😄
