THE NEW HUMANS

THE NEW HUMANS

PART 1 – The Night the Sky Changed

Rain.

It started as an ordinary rainstorm.

Then, within minutes…

every weather station on Earth began reporting the impossible.

Lightning struck across every continent at the exact same moment.

New York.

Tokyo.

Lagos.

Port-au-Prince.

Paris.

Rio de Janeiro.

Sydney.

Every nation was under the same storm.

Scientists stared at their monitors in disbelief.

“This can’t happen…”

Meteorologist Sarah Collins whispered as she watched the global satellite feed.

“It’s… everywhere.”

The rain grew heavier.

The thunder became louder.

It wasn’t normal thunder.

Each rumble felt like it was shaking the entire planet.

People everywhere rushed inside.

Parents pulled their children close.

Airplanes were grounded.

Ships stopped sailing.

Even wild animals disappeared from the streets.

For twelve straight hours…

the world remained under one endless storm.

Then…

just before sunrise…

everything stopped.

No rain.

No thunder.

No wind.

Only silence.

The next morning…

people stepped outside carefully.

The streets were wet.

The air felt strangely clean.

Birds sang louder than usual.

Everything seemed…

different.

Then someone screamed.

“Who’s that?”

A group of strange-looking people stood quietly in the middle of the street.

No one had seen them arrive.

There were dozens of them.

Then hundreds.

Then thousands.

Every city…

Every country…

Every village…

They were everywhere.

Their appearance frightened everyone.

Their bodies looked almost human…

but not completely.

Their heads had a perfect square shape.

Their eyes were completely black.

Not a single white spot.

No eyebrows.

Their skin was covered with countless tiny feathers that shimmered under the morning light.

No eyelashes.

Just deep black eyes that calmly watched the world.

Despite their unusual appearance…

they were all dressed in ordinary human clothes.

Men.

Women.

Children.

Old people.

They looked like families.

People began recording them with their phones.

Social media exploded within minutes.

“Aliens?”

“A government experiment?”

“Angels?”

“No… monsters!”

No one knew.

In Haiti…

one elderly man slowly approached them.

His hands trembled.

“Who are you?”

One of the strangers smiled gently.

Then

he answered,

“We are humans.”

The old man frowned.

“No… you’re not.”

The stranger tilted his square head slightly.

“We are.”

“You don’t look like us.”

“We know.”

“So where do you come from?”

The stranger remained silent for several seconds.

Then he answered with only four words.

“We came because… you failed.”

The old man’s face froze.

“What does that mean?”

The stranger smiled again.

“You’ll understand soon.”

He turned…

and quietly walked away.

Across the world…

the exact same conversation was happening.

Except…

every stranger spoke the local language perfectly.

English.

French.

Spanish.

Arabic.

Chinese.

Japanese.

Russian.

Every language.

As if they had spoken it their entire lives.

Governments immediately declared a global emergency.

Military forces surrounded the mysterious newcomers.

Soldiers aimed their weapons.

One general shouted,

“Don’t move!”

None of the strangers reacted.

They simply stood there…

calm.

Fearless.

Almost…

as if they already knew no one would shoot.

Then, without warning…

every television…

every phone…

every computer screen on Earth…

turned black.

A single sentence appeared in every language at the same time.

“We are not here to conquer your world. We are here to save what remains of it.”

And before anyone could understand what that meant…

the screen went dark again.

END OF PART 1…

THE NEW HUMANS

PART 2 – The First to Disappear

After the mysterious message appeared on every screen across the planet, the world fell into chaos.

For days, governments tried to discover who the New Humans really were.

They attempted to arrest some of them.

They questioned them.

They collected blood samples for testing.

But every New Human cooperated peacefully.

The strangest part came when the laboratory results arrived.

One scientist suddenly shouted,

“This is impossible!”

Another scientist rushed over.

“What is it?”

He stared at the monitor before replying,

“Their DNA is almost identical to ours… but different enough to prove they are not the same species.”

Silence filled the laboratory.

While scientists searched for answers…

something even stranger was happening.

In Brazil…

police discovered the body of a notorious gang leader lying in the middle of a street.

There were no bullet wounds.

No stab wounds.

No poison.

The medical examiner found no cause of death.

That same day…

in Italy…

an internationally wanted terrorist was found dead inside his hotel room.

The same mystery.

No injuries.

No explanation.

In Japan…

a group of serial killers who had escaped justice for years were found dead inside an abandoned warehouse.

In Haiti…

a feared gang leader who had terrorized entire neighborhoods for years was found dead on a major highway.

When people woke up that morning, his body was already there.

No bullet wounds.

No blood.

No signs of a struggle.

Everyone was shocked.

A young man whispered,

“This can’t be real…”

An elderly man replied,

“Ever since the New Humans arrived… everything has changed.”

Within a single week…

more than three thousand criminals, terrorists, and murderers from around the world had died.

Every one of them…

the exact same way.

No signs of violence.

No explanation.

News channels talked about nothing else.

One television anchor asked,

“Could this be a new disease?”

A medical expert answered,

“If it were a disease, it wouldn’t target only criminals.”

Another analyst spoke up.

“Could the New Humans have something to do with this?”

No one had any proof.

But the same question was spreading across the world.

A few days later, the President of the United States invited representatives of the New Humans to an emergency meeting with several world leaders.

When they entered the conference room…

everyone stared at them.

They walked calmly.

Silently.

Without fear.

One of the leaders stood up and asked,

“Are you the ones killing these criminals?”

The New Human looked around the room before calmly answering,

“No.”

The leaders exchanged relieved glances.

Then the New Human continued,

“We do not kill anyone.”

The President frowned.

“Then why are criminals dying everywhere since your arrival?”

The New Human remained silent for a few moments.

Then he quietly said,

“When light appears… darkness disappears on its own.”

A military general slammed his fist on the table.

“Stop speaking in riddles! Tell us the truth!”

The New Human slowly turned his completely black eyes toward him.

Then he said,

“We force no one to die. Every person simply receives the consequence of who they truly are.”

A cold silence filled the room.

Those words sent chills through everyone present.

No one understood what they really meant.

That same night…

a security camera video began spreading across the internet.

It was the first footage showing one of the New Humans near a known criminal.

The video showed a man who was on an international wanted list walking alone through an empty street.

A New Human quietly walked past him.

They never touched each other.

They simply looked into each other’s eyes for two seconds.

The New Human continued walking.

The criminal took two more steps…

then suddenly collapsed.

He never got up again.

The entire world watched the footage in stunned silence.

END OF PART 2…

THE NEW HUMANS

PART 3 – A World Without Fear

The mysterious deaths continued.

One week became two.

Two weeks became a month.

Every morning…

the news reported the same thing.

Another gang leader.

Another terrorist.

Another serial killer.

Another human trafficker.

Dead.

No wounds.

No poison.

No disease.

No explanation.

The world’s prisons slowly began to empty.

Not because criminals were being released…

but because the most dangerous ones were dying before they could even stand trial.

Interpol noticed something unbelievable.

The international “Most Wanted” list was shrinking every single day.

For the first time in history…

there were more names being removed than added.

In Haiti…

entire neighborhoods that had lived under the control of gangs for years suddenly became peaceful.

Children returned to playing soccer in the streets.

Schools reopened.

Businesses that had been abandoned welcomed customers again.

An elderly woman stood outside her house with tears in her eyes.

“I never thought I’d hear children laughing here again.”

Nearby, a little boy kicked a soccer ball toward one of the New Humans.

The square-headed stranger caught it.

Smiled.

Then gently kicked it back.

The children laughed.

For the first time…

they weren’t afraid.

Across the world…

kidnappings stopped.

School shootings disappeared.

Human trafficking networks collapsed.

Pirates vanished from the oceans.

Terrorist attacks became a memory.

The crime rate dropped faster than anyone believed possible.

Television stations could barely keep up.

One news anchor smiled during a live broadcast.

“For the first time in decades…

we’re running out of bad news.”

Hospitals noticed another miracle.

Emergency rooms became quieter.

Doctors who once treated gunshot victims every day now had empty waiting rooms.

Dr. Emily Carter stared at the hospital dashboard.

“This can’t be real…”

Her colleague looked over.

“What happened?”

“We haven’t admitted a single shooting victim in twelve days.”

He remained silent.

Neither of them had ever seen that happen before.

Governments around the world became divided.

Some leaders welcomed the New Humans.

Others feared them.

An emergency meeting of world leaders was held once again.

The President of France spoke first.

“We should work with them.”

Germany’s Chancellor nodded.

“They’ve done more for world peace in one month than we have in decades.”

But another leader disagreed.

“We still don’t know who they are.”

The room fell silent.

Then the representative of the New Humans finally stood.

His square-shaped face showed no emotion.

“We understand your fear.”

The President of Brazil asked,

“Can you promise that humans are safe?”

The New Human answered immediately.

“Every innocent person is safe.”

The President frowned.

“And who decides who’s innocent?”

The room became completely silent.

The New Human looked at every leader.

Then quietly replied,

“The truth.”

His answer spread across the internet within minutes.

Millions praised them.

“They’re saving us!”

“They’re heroes!”

“They’re the future!”

But others weren’t convinced.

“What if they’re wrong?”

“What if they decide one day that we’re guilty?”

For the first time…

the world wasn’t arguing about politics.

It was arguing about trust.

Three months after their arrival…

Earth had become almost unrecognizable.

People walked alone at midnight without fear.

Parents no longer worried when their children played outside.

Banks transported money without armed guards.

Military checkpoints disappeared from many countries.

Even the stock markets reached record highs.

The world was finally breathing.

One afternoon…

a young woman named Sophia, a journalist known for questioning everything, stood on the roof of her office overlooking the city.

Her cameraman joined her.

“What are you looking at?”

Sophia didn’t answer immediately.

She watched several New Humans walking peacefully among thousands of ordinary people.

Then she quietly said,

“Everyone is celebrating.”

Her cameraman smiled.

“Shouldn’t they?”

Sophia kept staring at the crowd.

“I don’t know…”

He looked confused.

“What do you mean?”

She took a deep breath.

“They’ve changed the world…”

She paused.

“…but I still don’t know who they really are.”

Far below…

one of the New Humans suddenly stopped walking.

Slowly…

he raised his square head.

His completely black eyes looked directly at Sophia.

Even from hundreds of feet away…

it felt as if he had heard every word she had said.

Sophia’s smile disappeared.

A chill ran down her spine.

END OF PART 3…

THE NEW HUMANS

PART 4 – The Secret They Never Told Us

Sonia couldn’t sleep that night.

She kept replaying the moment in her mind.

The New Human had looked directly at her.

Not in her direction…

At her.

As if he had heard her thoughts.

The next morning, she arrived early at the newsroom.

Her editor, Diego, handed her a folder.

“I’ve got a story for you.”

Sonia barely looked up.

“I’m already working on one.”

Diego smiled.

“I know.”

He placed the folder on her desk.

“You’re officially investigating the New Humans.”

She looked at him in surprise.

“You want me to investigate them?”

“The whole world loves them.”

“Exactly,” Diego replied.

“That’s why someone needs to ask the questions nobody else is asking.”

Over the next few weeks…

Sophia traveled across the world.

Brazil.

Japan.

France.

South Africa.

Haiti.

Everywhere she went…

people told her the same thing.

“My daughter can finally walk to school alone.”

“My business is alive again.”

“I don’t lock my doors anymore.”

“They saved us.”

No one had a single complaint.

Not one.

And somehow…

that bothered her even more.

One afternoon in Haiti…

Sonia met an old fisherman sitting alone on the beach.

He quietly watched the ocean.

She sat beside him.

“What do you think about the New Humans?”

The old man smiled.

“They’re a blessing.”

“So you trust them?”

He remained silent for a moment.

Then he answered,

“I trust what they’ve done.”

She looked at him.

“That’s not what I asked.”

The old man sighed.

“I’ve lived long enough to know something.”

“What is it?”

“When something seems too perfect…”

“…it’s usually hiding something.”

Sophia wrote those words in her notebook.

Days later…

she reviewed thousands of security videos from around the world.

She noticed something strange.

Every time a criminal died…

at least one New Human had been nearby.

Not touching them.

Not speaking to them.

Just…

watching.

Always watching.

She took her findings to an international team of scientists.

One researcher adjusted his glasses.

“We’ve noticed something unusual too.”

“What is it?”

“We’ve scanned their brains.”

“And?”

“They don’t communicate verbally.”

Sophia frowned.

“Then how do they communicate?”

The scientist swallowed.

“We don’t know.”

He lowered his voice.

“But every brain scan becomes active at the exact same millisecond.”

“You mean…”

“They all think together.”

Sophia’s eyes widened.

“Like one mind?”

The scientist nodded.

“Exactly.”

That night…

Sonia returned to her hotel.

She locked the door.

Closed the curtains.

Opened her laptop.

She began writing everything she had discovered.

Just before pressing Publish…

the lights went out.

The room became completely dark.

Her laptop shut down by itself.

The television turned on.

Static filled the screen.

Then…

one face appeared.

A New Human.

He looked directly into the camera.

Into her eyes.

Without moving his lips…

Sophia heard a voice inside her head.

“You are searching for answers.”

Her heart pounded.

She whispered,

“Who’s there?”

The voice continued.

“You are close.”

Sophia stood up.

“What are you?”

Silence.

Then…

the voice spoke again.

“Be careful.”

She froze.

“Why?”

A long pause followed.

Then came six words that made her blood run cold.

“Not every human deserves saving.”

The television instantly turned off.

The lights came back.

Her laptop restarted.

Everything looked normal.

Except…

the document she had been writing…

was gone.

Every word had disappeared.

Sophia slowly backed away from the desk.

For the first time since the New Humans arrived…

she realized something terrifying.

They weren’t just watching the world.

They were watching…

her.

END OF PART 4…

THE NEW HUMANS

PART 5 – The First Mistake

Sonia didn’t tell anyone what had happened in her hotel room.

Who would believe her?

A voice inside her mind.

A television that turned itself on.

A document that erased itself without a trace.

Even she struggled to believe it.

But one thing was certain.

The New Humans knew she was investigating them.

A week later…

something happened that shocked the entire world.

For the first time since the New Humans arrived…

an innocent man died.

His name was Daniel Brooks.

He was a thirty-eight-year-old high school teacher in Chicago.

Married.

Father of two daughters.

Loved by everyone who knew him.

He had never been arrested.

Never accused of a crime.

Yet…

he collapsed in the middle of a crowded street.

Thousands of people witnessed it.

Within seconds…

he was dead.

No wounds.

No poison.

No explanation.

Exactly like every criminal before him.

The news spread across the world.

Television stations interrupted every program.

One headline appeared on every screen.

“THE FIRST INNOCENT VICTIM?”

For the first time…

people began asking questions.

The White House immediately called an emergency meeting.

World leaders demanded answers.

The representative of the New Humans calmly entered the room.

The President of the United States stood up.

“For months we’ve trusted you.”

The New Human remained silent.

The President continued.

“Yesterday, an innocent man died.”

“Explain it.”

The room waited.

The New Human finally spoke.

“He was not innocent.”

The leaders looked at one another.

The Prime Minister of Canada frowned.

“He was a teacher.”

“He volunteered at hospitals.”

“He donated to charities.”

“What did he do?”

The New Human answered without emotion.

“He intended to kill.”

Silence.

The President slowly shook his head.

“Intended?”

“He never killed anyone.”

“He never committed a crime.”

The New Human looked directly at him.

“But he would have.”

The room erupted.

“You cannot punish someone for something they haven’t done!”

“You can’t judge thoughts!”

“This isn’t justice!”

The New Human waited until the shouting stopped.

Then he calmly replied,

“Humans judge actions.”

“We judge truth.”

The meeting ended in chaos.

For the first time…

world leaders left without applauding the New Humans.

Sonia immediately flew to Chicago.

She met Daniel’s wife, Emma.

Their daughters sat silently on the living room floor.

One held a family photograph.

Emma wiped away tears.

“My husband wasn’t a monster.”

Sophia softly asked,

“Did anything seem different lately?”

Emma hesitated.

Then she whispered,

“Three nights before he died…”

“…he woke up screaming.”

“What did he say?”

“He kept repeating the same sentence.”

“What sentence?”

Emma looked down.

“He said…”

‘They know what I was thinking.’

Sonia’s heart skipped a beat.

“What did he mean?”

Emma slowly shook her head.

“I don’t know.”

That evening…

Sonia visited Mike’s office at the school.

Most of his belongings had already been packed away.

But inside the bottom drawer of his desk…

she found a small notebook.

On the final page…

only one sentence had been written.

I don’t want to become the man I’m afraid of becoming.

Sonia stared at the words.

She couldn’t move.

Was Mike hiding something?

Or…

had the New Humans judged him for thoughts he had never acted on?

As Sonia closed the notebook…

she noticed a shadow outside the classroom window.

Someone was standing there.

Motionless.

Watching her.

She slowly walked toward the glass.

The hallway outside was empty.

No one.

She looked down into the school courtyard.

Among hundreds of people…

one square-headed New Human stood perfectly still.

His black eyes were fixed on her.

Then…

he smiled.

And disappeared into the crowd.

END OF PART 5…

THE NEW HUMANS

PART 6 – The Judgment

The world was no longer united.

For three months, the New Humans had been celebrated as heroes.

Now…

they were being questioned.

Across every continent, people argued.

“They saved humanity.”

“They’ve gone too far.”

“They’re protecting us.”

“They’re deciding who deserves to live.”

Families stopped speaking to one another over the debate.

Governments became divided.

For the first time since the New Humans arrived…

fear began to return.

Sonia couldn’t stop thinking about Mike’s notebook.

I don’t want to become the man I’m afraid of becoming.

Those words haunted her.

If the New Humans had truly judged him for something he had never done…

then no one on Earth was truly safe.

Determined to find the truth, Sonia returned to the international research center studying the New Humans.

Dr. Marcus Hale welcomed her into his office.

“I think we’ve found something.”

He closed the blinds before speaking.

“We’ve been afraid to tell anyone.”

Sophia leaned forward.

“What did you discover?”

Marcus opened a secure file.

Inside were brain scans from dozens of people who had died.

Criminals.

Terrorists.

Murderers.

And Mike.

Sonia studied the images.

“They all look the same.”

Marcus nodded.

“At first, we thought so.”

He pressed another button.

A hidden layer appeared.

Tiny glowing patterns covered every scan.

Sonia frowned.

“What am I looking at?”

Marcus took a deep breath.

“Memories.”

She stared at him.

“That’s impossible.”

“So did we.”

Marcus continued.

“We believe the New Humans don’t judge people by what they’ve done…”

He paused.

“They judge people by everything they truly are.”

Sonia looked confused.

“What does that mean?”

“They somehow see every memory.”

“Every lie.”

“Every intention.”

“Every hidden desire.”

“Every choice a person is willing to make.”

Sonia slowly sat back.

“They can read the human mind?”

Marcus quietly answered,

“No…”

“I think they read the human soul.”

That night…

Sonia walked alone through a quiet city park.

She needed time to think.

The streets were peaceful.

Children laughed nearby.

Couples walked without fear.

Everything looked perfect.

Then she heard a voice behind her.

“You finally understand.”

She turned around.

A single New Human stood beneath a tree.

His square head was almost hidden by the shadows.

His black eyes reflected the moonlight.

Sonia didn’t run.

She had too many questions.

“Were you the one speaking to me in my hotel?”

“Yes.”

“Why?”

“Because you seek truth.”

She stepped closer.

“Then tell me the truth.”

The New Human remained silent for several seconds.

Finally, he spoke.

“Your species believes justice begins after a crime.”

Sonia answered,

“Because that’s how justice works.”

He slowly shook his head.

“By then…”

“…the innocent have already suffered.”

Sophia crossed her arms.

“So you kill people before they commit crimes?”

“We do not kill.”

“You keep saying that.”

“Then what happens to them?”

The New Human looked toward the night sky.

“They face themselves.”

She frowned.

“I don’t understand.”

“The human mind hides the truth.”

“The soul cannot.”

Sonia’s voice grew stronger.

“Mike Brooks never hurt anyone.”

The New Human immediately replied,

“Not yet.”

“He was fighting his own darkness.”

“He almost won.”

Sonia’s eyes widened.

“Almost?”

The New Human lowered his head.

“We do not judge what people imagine.”

“We judge the choice they have already accepted within themselves.”

She whispered,

“And if they change?”

For the first time…

the New Human didn’t answer immediately.

Instead…

he looked away.

That single moment of silence frightened Sophia more than anything else.

Before she could ask another question…

sirens echoed through the city.

Several military vehicles surrounded the park.

Soldiers jumped out with advanced weapons.

A general shouted through a loudspeaker.

“Step away from the creature!”

Sophia raised her hands.

“Don’t shoot!”

The soldiers aimed.

The New Human didn’t move.

The general gave the order.

“Fire!”

Dozens of bullets filled the air.

Sophia screamed.

“No!”

The bullets reached the New Human…

and stopped.

Every bullet froze in midair.

Not one touched him.

The soldiers stared in horror.

The New Human slowly looked at the floating bullets.

Without raising a hand…

they gently fell to the ground.

No explosions.

No force.

Just silence.

Then he looked at the soldiers and quietly said,

“We did not come here to fight you.”

He turned to Sophia one last time.

“The greatest danger to humanity…”

He paused.

“…has never been us.”

Then…

he vanished.

Not by running.

Not by flying.

He simply disappeared.

Leaving behind only a single white feather lying on the grass.

Sonia slowly picked it up.

As her fingers touched it…

she heard the same voice inside her mind one final time.

“The first judgment has already begun.”

She looked up in confusion.

“What first judgment?”

There was no answer.

Only silence.

END OF PART 6…

THE NEW HUMANS

PART 7 – The First Judgment

Sonia couldn’t stop thinking about the New Human’s final words.

“The first judgment has already begun.”

Judgment?

What judgment?

The world had already witnessed criminals dying.

Daniel Brooks had been the first innocent man.

What could possibly come next?

The following morning…

every television station interrupted its regular programming.

A breaking news banner flashed across every screen.

MASS PANIC IN MORE THAN 70 COUNTRIES.

People watched in silence.

The report showed world leaders…

business executives…

military commanders…

judges…

religious leaders…

scientists…

and celebrities…

all collapsing in public.

Not all of them died.

Some regained consciousness within minutes.

Others remained unconscious.

None of the doctors could explain why.

Hospitals around the world became overwhelmed.

Dr. Emily Carter rushed from one patient to another.

Every test came back normal.

Healthy hearts.

Healthy brains.

Healthy lungs.

There was no disease.

No poison.

No infection.

It was as if their bodies had simply…

shut down.

That afternoon…

every New Human on Earth stopped whatever they were doing.

They stood perfectly still.

Millions of them.

At exactly the same moment.

People stared in confusion.

Children stopped playing.

Traffic came to a halt.

Even animals became strangely quiet.

Then…

every New Human slowly closed their black eyes.

Seconds later…

every screen on Earth turned black.

Phones.

Televisions.

Computers.

Billboards.

Even the displays inside airplanes.

A single face appeared.

One of the New Humans.

He spoke calmly.

“This is not a punishment.”

“It is a mirror.”

The world listened.

“For thousands of years…”

“…your species has judged people by what they do.”

“We judge them by what they choose to become.”

The message continued.

“Every human being carries two futures.”

“One future is built by compassion.”

“The other…”

“…by the choices hidden inside the heart.”

“No court can see those choices.”

“We can.”

Governments immediately responded.

The President of the United States spoke during an emergency broadcast.

“We cannot allow another species to decide humanity’s future.”

Leaders from several nations agreed.

Within hours…

a military coalition unlike anything in history was formed.

Their mission had only one objective.

Capture a New Human.

Alive.

Sonia watched the announcement in disbelief.

“They’re going to start a war…”

she whispered.

Her cameraman looked at her.

“What choice do they have?”

She quietly replied,

“What if that’s exactly what they’re expecting us to do?”

That night…

special forces from dozens of countries launched simultaneous operations.

Cities across the world were surrounded.

Helicopters filled the skies.

Thousands of soldiers moved into position.

The order was clear.

Take one alive.

No matter the cost.

The operation lasted less than five minutes.

Not because the soldiers failed.

Because…

there was no one left to capture.

Every New Human…

had disappeared.

At exactly the same second.

Millions of them.

Gone.

No footprints.

No vehicles.

No flashes of light.

Nothing.

It was as if they had never existed.

People rushed into the streets.

Children cried.

Some celebrated.

Others were terrified.

One woman fell to her knees.

“They left us…”

An old man quietly answered,

“No…”

“I think they’re watching.”

Sonia returned to the park where she had last spoken with one of them.

The white feather was still in her pocket.

As she held it in her hand…

it began to glow.

A voice echoed inside her mind.

“The first judgment is complete.”

Sonia’s heart raced.

“What happens now?”

After several seconds of silence…

the voice finally answered.

“Now… humanity will judge itself.”

The feather turned to dust.

The wind carried it away.

Sonia stood frozen.

She had the terrifying feeling…

that the New Humans had never come to build a perfect world.

They had come…

to see whether humanity deserved one.

END OF PART 7…

THE NEW HUMANS

PART 8 – The Final Choice

The disappearance of the New Humans changed the world once again.

This time…

not because they were there.

But because they were gone.

For the first time in months…

people felt fear returning.

Not fear of criminals.

Fear of themselves.

Weeks passed.

Then months.

No New Human was ever seen again.

Not one.

Yet something extraordinary happened.

Crime did not return.

Not immediately.

People remembered.

They remembered the peace.

They remembered the safety.

Most of all…

they remembered being watched.

Sonia continued searching for answers.

She visited every place where the New Humans had first appeared.

Nothing.

She interviewed hundreds of scientists.

Nothing.

She searched every government archive.

Nothing.

It was as if they had erased every trace of themselves.

Except…

one.

The white feather.

Although it had turned to dust…

Sonia had secretly collected a few tiny particles before the wind carried them away.

She had kept them inside a small glass vial.

It was the only physical evidence that they had ever existed.

One year later…

the world gathered for the first Global Peace Summit in history.

Leaders from nearly every nation attended.

For the first time…

they were discussing how to protect peace…

instead of preparing for war.

Sophia was there as a journalist.

As the conference began…

every light inside the building suddenly went out.

No one moved.

Then…

the giant screen at the front of the room came to life.

Gasps filled the hall.

One New Human appeared.

Exactly as before.

Square head.

Black eyes.

Feathers covering his body.

He looked at everyone in silence.

Then he spoke.

“We promised that humanity would judge itself.”

“You have.”

The room remained silent.

The New Human continued.

“Some of you chose peace.”

“Some chose revenge.”

“Some chose power.”

“And some chose hope.”

The Secretary-General slowly stood.

“Who are you?”

For the first time…

the New Human smiled.

“We are what your species will become…”

“…if you survive yourselves.”

The room froze.

No one spoke.

The New Human continued.

“We are not aliens.”

“We were once human.”

Thousands of reporters stared in disbelief.

“We come from a future that no longer exists.”

“Our world ended…”

“…because we waited too long to change.”

“We traveled across time…”

“Not to save you.”

“But to give you a choice.”

Sonia stood up.

“So everything was a test?”

The New Human looked directly at her.

“No.”

“It was an opportunity.”

“You confuse the two.”

He raised his hand.

The screen changed.

Images appeared.

Two futures.

In the first…

cities were burning.

Nations were at war.

The oceans were polluted.

Children cried among ruins.

Humanity destroyed itself.

Then…

a second future appeared.

The same cities…

filled with trees.

Clean rivers.

Children laughing together.

No borders dividing people.

No fear.

No hatred.

Just peace.

The New Human spoke one last time.

“Both futures still exist.”

“Neither has been chosen.”

“The decision belongs to you.”

A journalist shouted,

“Will you ever come back?”

The New Human remained silent for several seconds.

Then he answered,

“When humanity no longer needs us…”

“…you will become us.”

The screen suddenly went black.

The lights came back on.

He was gone.

Forever.

No one spoke for several minutes.

Not a president.

Not a soldier.

Not a scientist.

Not even Sonia.

She slowly walked outside the conference hall.

The sky was clear.

No storm.

No thunder.

Only sunlight.

Children were playing in a nearby park.

She smiled.

For the first time…

she finally understood.

The New Humans had never come to build a perfect world.

They had come to prove…

that humanity already possessed everything it needed to build one.

The question had never been…

“Who are the New Humans?”

The real question was…

“Will we ever become them?”

THE END
